Starlight® Bacteriostatic characteristics:
The humidity on the filament surface causes the release of silver ions from the micro-compound incorporated and distributed all along the filament.
Natural antimicrobial silver is effective against all gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is also effective in preventing the formation of some fungi. Silver ions exert their antimicrobial action by the following mechanisms:
1.Disruption of the cellular surface of bacteria.
2.Blockage of respiration through the cellular membrane.
3.Formation of a bond with bacteria molecules.
Starlight® Bacteriostatic is a Swiss product offering certified effectiveness and guaranteed performance. Laboratory tests are performed in accordance with the ISO 20743:2007 and/or JIS 1902:2002 standards and show that product performance parameters remain unchanged even after 300 washes at 40°C.
Starlight® Bacteriostatic functionality can also be combined with Starlight® FR flame retardant characteristics and/or Starlight® UV Guard UV stabilization.
