Transparency and collaboration in the ESG sphere are key to building trust and credibility in the value chain. We share commitments, progress and challenges with our partners to strengthen relationships, reduce risks and create long-lasting value. We align ESG performance with the most advanced standards by choosing international rating platforms and systems, adopting ethical principles shared with customers and suppliers, and evaluating environmental performance through state-of-the-art scientific tools.

Rating platforms and systems

The path to measuring and boosting ESG performance also involves voluntary adherence to systems that connect the various industry partners, encourage them to focus on concrete actions that go beyond the bureaucratic requirements, and support them in their striving for continuous improvement.
EcoVadis, for example, is a global sustainability evaluation platform that analyses environmental, social and ethical performance. It provides scores and reports to help companies improve and promote a responsible value chain.

Environmental and product impact

Transparency can be seen

For years we’ve believed that transparency is the starting point for concrete sustainability. We use tools such as LCA, EPD and PEF to assess and communicate the environmental impact of our products at every stage of their life cycle. This allows us to intervene with targeted solutions, optimising processes and materials to guarantee high and sustainable quality standards along the entire supply chain.

LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)

Since 2010, RadiciGroup companies have been applying this methodology to the Group’s main products, analysing their life cycle to highlight their interaction with the environment. The data from the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) analysis are used as a stand-alone assessment method, or as a basis for drafting the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and for the PEF (Product Environmental Footprint).

EPD (Environmental Product Declaration)

EPD is a voluntary certification that highlights the environmental performance of products. It’s a strategic tool for communicating objective, comparable and credible information. RadiciGroup publishes EPDs through the International EPD System, one of the industry’s most qualified EPD managers.

PEF (Product Environmental Footprint)

The PEF system, used by RadiciGroup, is a methodology promoted by the European Union that regulates the calculation and assessment of the environmental impact of products and services, and the communication of this information to stakeholders.

Fighting climate change

CDP and SBTi: environmental progress and targets

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international non-profit organisation that manages an environmental disclosure system. In particular, it provides data and assessments relating to climate performance to promote transparency and sustainability.

The High Performance Polymers business area, through Radici Novacips, adheres to CDP to monitor and improve its progress in the fight against climate change. To make the decarbonisation path even more effective, it has set itself specific targets by adhering to the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi). The latter is an initiative that guides companies in setting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets based on climate science.
