The bio-based products of the Radilon® family, including compounds based on PA610 and other experimental grades.

high performance polymers

Bio-based polyamides

Bionside®, an extension of the Radilon® family with a lower environmental impact, is an innovative line of polyamides with bio-based content. The Bionside® polyamide range – the result of the commitment to sustainable production, and primarily derived from castor oil – offers excellent technical characteristics. For example, PA610 is distinguished by lower water absorption compared with the traditional polyamides PA6 and PA66, as well as greater chemical resistance.

Product features

Enhanced environmental performance

Choosing biological sources where possible is a key way to support the environment, and reduces dependence on fossil fuels. Bio-based renewable polymers are a valid alternative to polymers derived from fossil fuels, thanks to their lower environmental impact (including CO₂ emissions).

Bio-based origin

Bionside® is produced using renewable raw materials, primarily castor oil.

Strength and durability

The Radilon® D PA610 Bionside® family guarantees higher chemical resistance than the polyamides PA6 and PA66, along with better dimensional stability thanks to its lower water absorption.

Versatility of use

Its excellent technical properties make Bionside® suitable for use in various applications, such as automotive, furniture, household appliances, electric tools and electronics.

Sustainable products

Solutions that make a difference

Every day, our Group works within markets that are highly focused on sustainability issues. Climate change, scarcity of resources, the need to reduce the carbon footprint of processes and products – these all represent an important stimulus for improvement, if addressed seriously.

For this reason, we have long invested in research and innovation to meet these challenges, transforming them into opportunities for responsible growth as well as creating an important portfolio of tangible solutions both for the customer and the value chain.
