We have been working alongside global manufacturers of small and large Household Appliances for many years, to create safe, long-lasting and increasingly sustainable products.
Household Appliances contain numerous components for which the use of polyamide- and polyester-based engineering polymers is the optimal solution. In the case of unattended appliances, for example, conformity with IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60695-2-13 is required. For this reason, we have supplemented our range with specific products that guarantee “robust glow wire” performance, along with other characteristics such as flame retardant properties, electrical insulation, etc.
The range includes specific products for parts that come into contact with drinking water and food, structural parts which often replace metal, and aesthetic parts resistant to the high temperatures typical of ovens, hair straighteners and hairdryers.
For electrical applications, the range includes polyamides (Radilon®, Radiflam®), PPA (Radilon® Aestus, Radiflam®) and self-extinguishing PBT (Radiflam® B).
For applications requiring certification for contact with drinking water, we have purposely developed the Radilon® and Radistrong® range which includes special polyamides based on PA66, PA612 and PPA. Finally, the Renycle® range includes polyamides with a low environmental impact from post-consumer and post-industrial sources, and the rapidly evolving Bionside® range of polyamides from renewable sources.
Large Household Appliances contain various components for which our products are the ideal solution. Electrical parts such as coils, motors, connectors and power module housings; structural parts like pulleys and handles; components that come into in contact with various types of fluid, such as solenoid valves – these are just some examples of successful applications.
To work optimally, dishwashers need components that can stand up to repeated washing cycles, high temperatures and aggressive detergents. This is why we use advanced engineering polymers that guarantee mechanical stability, protection in the event of flame development, and a long working life.
