The High Performance Polymers business area produces high-performance engineering polymers for various industries, including automotive, electrical/electronics, water management, household appliances and industrial applications.
RadiciGroup High Performance Polymers specialises in the production of high-performance engineering polymers, including those derived from bio-based or recycled sources. These compounds feature a wide range of chemical-physical-mechanical properties depending on the type of required application and are ideal for injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion processes. The global presence of the High Performance Polymers area is guaranteed by modern production sites spread across four continents, supported by a vast sales network.

AutoInsight is the Group’s tool for navigating the car in 3D mode, and is dedicated to all the players in the automotive industry supply chain.
The information in the tool highlights the numerous components made from the Group’s safe, innovative and sustainable materials, used in all the parts of the car.
In addition to interior and exterior applications and the most innovative materials developed for electric vehicles, materials for ICE Powertrain, Chassis and EE Lighting applications are also available.
The collaboration between Radici InNova and the R&D teams is fundamental to the development of innovative solutions for applications across specific industries via a continuous exchange of expertise and skills. This synergistic approach enables high-performance solutions to be developed, in line with the Group’s sustainability strategy and the principles of circular economy, as well as facilitating the constant growth of the Group.
We have a network of laboratories located across all our production units, allowing us to meet our customers’ needs in a comprehensive and localized manner. In all HPP laboratories, it is possible to carry out the most appropriate validation tests on experimental materials during the development phase.
At Villa d’Ogna, we manage the main R&D projects. We’re able to test the processability of the materials produced on pilot lines, conduct appropriate characterisations of the main rheological and mechanical chemical-physical properties, and also test the behaviour of the materials intended for the electric/electronics sector.
The Chignolo d’Isola Technology Laboratory is equipped to evaluate the processability of materials intended for the pipe extrusion sector (fluid transportation applications) or for the development of monofilaments for 3D printing. Fatigue and creep characterisation tests can also be conducted.
The German R&D team, on the other hand, is specialised in the study of the extrusion-compounding process, via software-assisted simulation activities. Lüneburg manages projects for the optimisation of process operating conditions that are valid for all BA HPP sites.
Among the laboratories located in the Asian continent, the one in Suzhou, China, is equipped with instruments for chemical analysis (GC/MS), morphological analysis (SEM), and thermo-mechanical testing (TMA). For applications in the automotive sector (interior – cabin, exterior – body), as well as for various outdoor uses, light exposure resistance tests (UV and visible) are also carried out.
One of the key features of our laboratories in the American continent is the execution of long-term tests required for materials intended for the automotive sector, such as aging tests in hot air and tests involving contact with engine coolant fluids, lubricating oils, and fuels.
RadiciGroup High Performance Polymers provides advanced computer simulation and engineering expertise to support those seeking to optimise material performance, achieve their weight reduction and sustainability goals and speed up time-to-market, whilst reducing the costs and risks associated with new product development. Using our cutting-edge Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, we use advanced material modelling and integrated simulation to accurately predict the behaviour of our engineering polymers, as well as their process-induced properties.
