RadiciGroup has released its 2009 Sustainability Report, an annual overview of the Group’s activities and achievements in the field of corporate social responsibility. The report is the single most important tool through which RadiciGroup keeps an ongoing dialogue with all its stakeholders and the communities where it operates.
In addition to adopting a new format and new graphics in its latest Sustainability Report, RadiciGroup has decided to focus more attention on concisely illustrating – through graphs, images and highlight boxes – the concrete sustainability choices made by its companies.
For RadiciGroup, sustainability is a way of doing business, a guiding principle for integrating environmental and social issues with the business side of corporate operations. Sustainability means a culture of responsible action based on the firm belief that the success and progress of a business organization cannot be separated from the underlying system of values. RadiciGroup’s attention to social issues and the environment has evolved during the years together with the evolution of the company itself, becoming ever more part of the strategic approach that influences the Group’s decisions.
The new Sustainability Report is divided into seven chapters –
Letter from Chairman Angelo Radici;
Profile, History,
Values and Mission of RadiciGroup;
Macroeconomic Context;
RadiciGroup’s Companies and
Sustainability;
Responsible Care® Programme and Certifications; Value Added and Professional Training – which provide a 360-degree overview of the Group’s social, environmental and financial performance. Despite the difficult economic situation, during 2009 the Group companies were able to maintain their sustainability commitment at a very high level. While operating on often limited budgets, they were able to improve their performance in terms of efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of their business operations. They worked on developing new products that could be made with materials from renewable sources, implementing new production processes that would safeguard natural resources and using clean energy for a significant part of their production activities.
RadiciGroup is an industrial enterprise with a fully vertically integrated polyamide production chain. And full vertical integration is the aspect the Group intends to leverage in order to enhance the environmental sustainability of its entire production chain: from polymerization to downstream plastics compounding and synthetic fibres production.
